    Will Moxi deal with dullness? And cause you t have glass like texture?

    • @MarkThayerSkin
      @MarkThayerSkin 24 минуты назад

      It certainly helps with dullness, but “glass skin” takes maintenance, keeping up with regular chemical exfoliation, soothing products, and hydration. So it helps by giving you a nice smooth texture but may take a few treatments to get where you want to be and you’ll still have to keep it up with your home care. 🖤🖤-MT

    • @MarkThayerSkin
      @MarkThayerSkin 6 дней назад

      Yes! It’s got a vacuum bag that squeezes product out without letting air back in. (To be fair, few dispensers are 100% airless because there’s still that tiny bit of product in the dispenser nozzle that is exposed to air but it’s *nearly* airless as is the general standard)

    Hi, I'm so happy I've stumbled upon your channel. Idk if you'll see this comment, but I have a question. I've been using G&G A-game 10 for a long time, never had any problems. My derm prescribed me tretinoin(Cordes Vas 0,5) because I asked her😂. Well, I wanted to use it... I'm a bit scared of that. Do you think I could use it? In the beginning definitely layering it(sandwich method) and, in time, use it alone. Or I should just continue using A-game 10? Nah, I'm getting older. I should up my "game" (🤣what a stupid sentence). Thank you.

    • @MarkThayerSkin
      @MarkThayerSkin 9 дней назад

      Haha I love it, yes I’m all for you upping your “game”! Glad you found my little corner of the internet! I think it should be a pretty easy transition, as you said, ease into it and use the new retinoid basics: slow n steady, minimize other actives, no other new products until you’re stabilized, sandwich it, pea size to start, and avoid eyes and nose in the early days. My approach would be to keep going with A-game 10 nightly but, swap it for a pea size of 0.05 tret Monday and Friday. If all is well at week 3, swap out Wednesday. If you like trying new retinoids, I would stop there so you can trade A-game for whatever new, exciting retinoid captures your attention and use that 4 nights a week and tret the other 3. If you’re all in on tret, I would keep adding one more night every 3 weeks until you’re all tret all the time🥳🤩 Hope this helps 🖤🖤, MT

    Please please checkout the brands that are also supposed to be Medical Grade: MBR (Germany) and Ateur 🙏🙏🙏

    • @MarkThayerSkin
      @MarkThayerSkin 22 дня назад

      I did some exploration of MBR and Ateur and my first question is what piqued your interests from these brands? They both seem to position themselves in the luxury bracket but take very different approaches to marketing and ingredient choice from there. Both are pricy so I’d only buy into it if they had something exceptional that no one else offers either in the delivery or unique proprietary ingredients. I’d be more inclined to try something from Ateur’s line purely because it’s so aesthetically unique and they use some ingredients I’ve never heard of but have promise. They’re giving me La Prairie vibes-. MBR’s marketing is definitely more clinical but one of their principles is “cost is no object” in the formulation process, which just feels a bit misplaced to me. The bummer is I can’t find published, peer-reviewed research from either which is a big part of how I gauge brands marketing themselves as “medical grade”. So any claims are just on their word despite both claiming to have fantastic research backing their formulations. To be fair, when I consider big name “medical grade” brands like Alastin, Skinbetter Science, or Skinceuticals, I also know that their more proprietary research that isn’t open to the public is available to clinicians so we can better educated patients when necessary. Perhaps these brands have similar arrangements with clinicians and will be willing to share some of their research confidentially so I can understand what makes them special. At the end of the day, I focus on brands that use research-backed ingredients and have an above average degree of transparency about their ingredients. So, I’ll keep an eye on them and keep digging for info to support their formulations but it’s just not in my budget to try either brand at the moment. Thank you for introducing me to them though! 🖤🖤-MT

    I thought Retinal is yellow, but this is not.

    • @MarkThayerSkin
      @MarkThayerSkin Месяц назад

      Lots of retinoid formulas are somewhat yellow, especially the first wave of Retinal products because there was really only one supplier of stabilized Retinaldehyde and it came blended with cloudberry seed oil which has a vivid yellow-orange tint. Now that is become a popular ingredient, there are more manufacturers of the raw material and some (not many) offer a colorless/white formula. Obviously most brands are very protective of their sources and trade secrets so it’s hard to track down exactly what Niche is using but it works well! 🖤🖤-MT

      Exfoliation depends on your skin type and concerns. Chemist Confessions has beautiful serum options for most skin types from sensitive to resilient. Geek and Gorgeous has toner/liquid options for all skin types too. Both have Mandelic acid options which is nice and gentle for hyperpigmentation. If your skin is more resilient, The Ordinary Glycolic acid toner is a nice, inexpensive option. Hope this helps! 🖤🖤-MT

    Is it good as a beginner retinol? I’ve read that, if you start a otc retinol, it should be differin, because it’s proven to work quite effectively, this on the other hand has good reviews, so I am kinda in a dilemma right now🥲

    • @MarkThayerSkin
      @MarkThayerSkin 2 месяца назад

      Good question! It is a good beginner retinoid, I would still ease into it every other night and step up as tolerated. Adapalene is great for acne and inflammation but has very little research on anti-aging. The limited research (and theoretically) is promising for anti-aging but because it’s never becomes actual retinoic acid it doesn’t bind to all the retinoid receptors in skin. It’s designed for acne so it selectively binds to only gamma and beta retinoid receptors which makes it far less irritating than tretinoin but it also loses some of the effects that are anti-aging. The retinoids in theramid are going to be gentle but still hit all the retinoid receptors. You should see improvement from either option but I tend to recommend adapalene for acne only and keep to retinal, retinol, retinopathy, etc for photoaging. Hope this helps! 🖤🖤-MT

    • @tomate454
      @tomate454 2 месяца назад

      @@MarkThayerSkin I would use it primarily for acne, so adapalene is the way to go hmm, okay. People use the retinals mainly for the anti aging purposes.should have maybe seen that in the reviews😂.You review this brand quite often, do you think it’s possible to introduce differin into your routine when you’re already using azelaic acid( theramid), it’s extremely gentle, and its strengthens the barrier as I heard

    • @MarkThayerSkin
      @MarkThayerSkin 2 месяца назад

      Oooo one isn’t better than the other, they’re both great formulas! But if you’re just getting back into retinoids, I’d start with a-game 10 and ease into it every other night. Once you’ve used a full bottle if you want to kick it up a notch, then clinical vit A. But if you’re happy with your progress at that point I would stay with a-game. Niche beauty’s clinical A is definitely going to be stronger than a-game but it’s pretty rare that people *need* to make that jump to see good results. 🖤🖤-MT

      @@MarkThayerSkin Hey, I’ve been using it for some more time and I have an update. Turns out I was wrong 😂. I thought airless pumps could only be achieved with a disc that goes up as the product is being used but this one is a bag inside the cylinder that shrinks as you use it up. It also seems like when it shrinks enough you’ll be able to unscrew the top (which you can’t when it’s full) and very easily separate plastic from glass (and no need to clean the glass hahah). I hope they somehow make it possible to only buy the pump and bag so you can reuse the glass but… if you can’t pull them apart now I don’t think they can make it possible 😅.

      @sofiadesentre These companies can really innovate when they put their minds to it! The vacuum bags definitely slide out of the glass when you’ve used all the product up, thank goodness! I love the idea of just buying a refill! Hopefully they will take advantage of the durable glass bottle down the line. 🖤🖤

    Hi, Mark! Quick question. I find myself not using this product often because I get concerned that the silicone content (based on what I feel) might inhibit absorption of the actives in the products I apply after it. I have nothing against silicones in general but thought they are somewhat occlusive. I’m sure you have much more knowledge on the topic so I thought I’d run this by you. I LOVE that you are reviewing Theramid products. It’s difficult to find a knowledgeable reviewer with solid info on them. Thanks! 😊

    • @MarkThayerSkin
      @MarkThayerSkin 3 месяца назад

      Ooooh I love this question! It does have a couple silicones in it, one that basically evaporates as you spread it to make it spread more evenly and smoothly, and another that sticks around to help moisturize, deliver the peptides into the skin, and yes, make a thin *but not impenetrable* layer of protection. In general, actives are designed to penetrate through even rowdier substances found in our skin than silicones, so I don’t worry too much about it. But if it bothers you, you can absolutely switch up the typical layering scheme of thinnest to thickest and put your actives on first and leave the siliconey serums for last! It might even help lock them in better. Another option (I’m trying this route myself for the sake of sanity when I’m neck deep in product testing) is to alternate actives. At the moment I’m alternating my exfoliating acid product and my peptide products every other night so I’m not layering a million products every night (and I’m less tempted to overuse strong products too!). If you want more info, my favorite down-to-earth cosmetic chemist, Michelle at Lab Muffin Beauty Science, did a great deep dive on this very topic a while back. labmuffin.com/silicone-mythbusting-with-video/ Hope that helps! 🖤🖤-MT
